is it worked by the same producer? Do the same creative team come together even if the show is on the other side of the world? Does buying previously used sets cut down the set-up costs?

Thanks

Previously used sets? Are you high?

Often there are new or at least ADDITIONALL producers brought on for a b'way transfer. What do you mean by "previously used sets"? The ones used at the other venue (out of town or off b'way)? Often the set needs to re-realized for the new space so even if the design is nearly the same it is still mostly new. As far as the creative team...that depends. Most often that stays the same, but it's not UNheard of for there to be minimal changes.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

It depends for many shows - most Wildhorn shows are entirely re-done, production to production. New directors, new designers, obviously new producers. If you see J&H in Spain, you won't even necessarily be hearing the same song selection in Austria.

And then like what dramamama611 said, something like an Andrew Lloyd Webber show will have someone new come in and tweak things around usually for the American audiences, or something that they thought about changing in London but had no reason to.

Yes, and sixteen-year-olds produce them.

As dramamama said, additional producers are often brought on. Correct me if I'm wrong but a prime example of this was the recent Company revival. Updated On: 8/12/09 at 07:56 PM
