I am highly highly highly considering a mini-trip to Greenville, SC to go see the SA tour. I just need to know some information first

a) How is the cast?
b) Will the cast change come mid-march?

The reason I ask these questions is because I would need to start saving right now. Thanks in advance.

Blake Bashoff will be gone. (The very best thing about the tour, IMHO.)
Ben Moss (Ernst) will be gone.
Kyle Riabko is already gone.

I'm fairly certain most of the others are staying. But next March is FAR off....lots of changes can happen before then. Many of them are continuously auditioning, so you never know.

Is it worth it? Hard to say...have you seen the show before? If not, then yes it certainly is. If you've seen it on B'way, perhaps not.

I saw the tour three times and thought the cast was excellent, but it was in SF and only their 2nd stop.

dramamama611,

I have not seen it yet, and I'm DYING to. I've wanted to see it for almost 3 years now, but I just want to make sure the the tour was at least in decent shape (the question about whether or not the cast will be around in march was general curiosity).

Blake is wonderful indeed. I think Henry Stram and Angela Reed are wonderful in the adult roles. Ben Moss as Ernst and Andy Mientus as Hanschen were the best pairing-very funny and very erotic. Truly wonderful. I loved the tour.

I saw the show in Baltimore and the cast was amazing!!! I loved it... it was my 3rd time seeing the show and really enjoyed seeing some new people in the roles. Even if the cast changes you should still see the show it is great and will change your life!

Do it if you haven't seen the show. I know that Anthony Lee Medina will be still there, not that he has a very large role. I am pretty sure that most of the people still in college were not signing on for the second leg of the tour. I won't tell how many times I saw the tour.

If you haven't yet seen it, please do. The kids work their asses off....even when they are sick. If the tour is scheduled....it is highly unlikely to get cancelled...but you just never know about casting.

The great thing about SA is that they are all so young they give it their all all the time.

I agree: that Angela Reed was wonderful. I had some SMALL issues with Stram but overall liked him.

I have now run into a slight problem. I will (possibly) be visiting Greenville from Eastern Tennessee. My parents have planned a trip to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I asked them if we could go during spring break (which begins on March 26th) so I could pay for us to go see the March 28th performance of the 'In The Heights' tour in Ft. Lauderdale (Which is the closing night performance in Ft. Lauderdale). I have sufficient funds to pay for the entire trip to Greenville (including tickets) as well as the tickets for ITH, my problem is that SA in Greenville is from March 16-21. I am going to pay for the entire Greenville trip, but I don't think my parents will be happy with the idea of driving to South Carolina and South Florida in the same month. Unless I can convince my parents to drive to two different states in the same month, should I see SA and go to Florida at a different time of the year (meaning I would skip ITH), or should I skip SA and go see ITH.

While only you can truly answer that: I think you should see SA. One...there is always a chance that ITH 'could' still be playing in Manhattan in the Spring of '11. Additionally, the tour of ITH is just begining, so you have a great chance that it will make it closer to you in the future.

SA is practically 1/2 done with it's two year tour. There is NO telling if or when you will have the opporutunity again.

See the tour of SA. I haven't seen the tour, but I have seen both shows on Broadway and I would choose SA hands down. Once this tour is over, that may be the last we will ever see of this production. Think about it like that.

Hmm... I'll try to tell my parents. I know they've really been looking forward to ITH, but if I tell them that I may never have the opportunity again, they might be slightly more understanding. Who knows, I might be able to convince them to see both.

There is a loving god out there. For real. I had no idea that Spring Awakening is coming to Charlotte this February. Charlotte is another city in a day-trip distance from me. I told my parents about it and they said I could do it!!!!! I'm going to see Spring Awakening in Charlotte and In The Heights in Ft. Lauderdale! I can't wait!!!!

Please give me your thoughts. I'm really curious about how this Degrassi kid is.

If anyone sees Jake as Melchior I would LOVE to hear your thoughts! Only a handful of his Canadian friends can make our way to DC to see him in person so the rest of us will have to settle for an online review or two.

I saw the tour a number of times in Toronto and I would tell you to get seats as close to the stage as possible and go for the orchestra rather than the balcony. Overall the tour cast isn't as deep as the Broadway cast was, but there are some individual performers (Blake Bashoff, for example) that are just as good (Bashoff was actually in the Broadway cast).

Akiva, I think I'll be able to be very objective, as I don't have anyone to compare their performances to.
