I have to say DRS. I saw a lot of new shows this summer, but DRS was by far my favorite. IMO there was nothing wrong with it. The songs were so much fun, the acting was great, the choreography was amazing, and then there is the cast. The cast was so talented.

The Light in the Piazza was one of the most glorious theatre experiences I've ever had...
Also Spelling Bee was hysterical and touching
Doubt- I love Cherry!
The key to the mystery of a great artist is that for reasons unknown, he will give away his energies and his life just to make sure that one note follows another... and leaves us with the feeling that something is right in the world.

Doubt was an earth-shattering theatrical experience for me. It was spectacular and the four performances (a phenomenally well-wrought Jones, a tense and seemingly perfect yet frightening O'Byrne, a stellar, star-making turn from Goldenhersh, and the best 10-minute performance I've ever seen from Lenox) made the show all the more powerful, engaging, and extremley harrowing. It's a great show.
Let's see. Since the summer, I've seen Altar Boyz, Wicked, Trailer Park, La Cage, DRS, Spelling Bee, Slut, Carol Channing at Feinstein's, Doubt, The Shaggs, Urinetown (in VA), Hairspray, Fiddler, and I'm not sure what else. I'm such a sucker for any kind of theatre, I love them all. Sorry to be such a wimp. It happens to the best of us now and then.
