Post-Pippin, every show will need acrobatics now. Just like every show used to need flying (post Wicked/Mary Poppins) or puppets (post Lion King, etc.)
I saw this production twice. I saw the very first preview and then a performance maybe two weeks after opening. I had little knowledge of the show and absolutely loved it. Eva Noblezada and Jon Jon Briones were incredible. Alistair Brammer was somewhat wooden and Tamsin Carroll, despite a lovely voice, looked awkward next to Brammer. Honestly, she looked like she should have been his mother. I didn't find it hard to follow and loved every second. The Fall of Saigon and the American Dream were two of the most thrilling moments I've ever experienced in the theatre. This trailer does do this production justice on every level.
