I rushed last Friday and I was in row L partial view. I couldn't see anything that happened on stage left, which is anything near the stairs, the sink, and part of the bathtub. Luckily, the scenes at the sink & the tub are shown on the screens, so you don't miss them completely.
I had seen the show before that in the center of the Rear Mezz, row A, so I knew what I was missing when I rushed. A friend who has only rushed said she wished she could see the bits that weren't visible from the partial view seats (she was in the house right boxes).
"For example, if I should paint my fingernails green -
and it just so happens I do paint them green. Well, if anyone should ask me why, I say: 'I think it's pretty!'"
We rushed this morning, on a Sunday when the box office opens at noon. I was the first person in line at 9:45am but about 8 people showed up by 10:15. A handful of people thought the box office opened at 10 and didn't stick around until noon, but by noon there were about 20 people.
We were given partial view seats in a box on house right, which really was fairly limited, but there were other mezzanine seats available so we were able to move with no problem.
I got tickets throught TDF. $41, rear orchestra slightly off-center, full-view. If you don't want to rush for obstucted seats, that could be a viable option.
I know they said it a $30 ticket for people 30 and younger, but do they ask for ID and check the age? And do they have another rush policy for people above 30 years old?
Has anyone rushed lately? Trying to rush either Saturday July 13th or Sunday July 14th (closing performance). BroadwaySpotted says there were 14 people by 9:30 on weekends, does anyone know if this is Saturday or Sunday? Any thoughts on how busy it will be for closing weekend? Thanks in advance!

I must say that I wouldn't recommend the rush seats at all. They are on the extreme sides so you really do miss a lot of the action. Yes, I know they're only $30 but I think people even sitting a little further in still only had a partial view. I don't think I've been to a show in recent memory where you need to be so far toward the center to see the majority of the action. If you're sitting on the right (even) side then you're going to miss all of the stairs, sink, tub action unless you're maybe in seats 2-8.

Clyde (and others) if I only want to pay for a rush seat is it not worth it to see the show at all, or is the show so worth it that I should buy whatever seat I can for as cheap as possible?

I had a TDF ticket this week and was in Orchestra C 12 and even that was far over enough that I couldn't see the top of the staircase and really couldn't see the sink. There were a few people in front of me whose faces were almost directly behind lighting fixtures. I'd imagine that those were rush seats. I guess if they can get people to buy them, then why not, but if that had been my first time seeing the show I would have been thoroughly disappointed.
My advice would be to buy a rear mezzanine seat with a discount code for $49.50 instead of a rush ticket.
turns out there's no 2pm show (or discount for 2pm show, didn't do all of my research) on 7/13, so now I'm debating between Vanya... and Cinderella. Will be back up in August to see whichever I miss this trip.

I'm in town the weekend of the 12th and since there's no matinee the 13th, so my only shot is Sunday the 14th. I should probably not take my chances and just buy in advance, huh?
