Hey guys! I need a good dramatic, intimate etc. scene for male and female. It can contemporary or Shakespeare and it has to be like 2 minutes or less. If anyone has any suggestions from a certain play or musical, I would appreciate it. It's for the Irene Ryan competition! Thank you!
"Have a child for warmth and a baker for bread and a prince for... whatever!"
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
I was an Irene Ryan nominee a couple of times in college... ah, memories...
Is the I.R. nominee the male or the female?
If it's the male, then "Comedy of Errors", Act 2 Scene 2 between Luciana and Antipholus of Syracuse might be good. Just start with Antipholus' monologue.
If it's the female, then look at "Two Rooms" by Lee Blessing. Lainie has a couple great scenes with Walker, and a couple more with Michael.
