Through our brand new Artist-In-Residence (AIR) education program, we are able to give Black voices the opportunity & resources to create without limits, and truly push themselves to their greatest potential. Our Current AIR, Damone Williams (Los Angeles) is currently preparing to direct the southeastern premiere of "Sugar In Our Wounds", written by a close friend of the company Donja R. Love a Black Queer Writer, this will also be the first production of it's play since it's broadway run, making this our 2nd straight from NY premiere back to back. Sugar In Our Wounds, is a story beautifully crafted story, apart of Donja R Loves trilogy about pivotal moments in Black History through an LGBTQ lens. The story follows James, a slave, as he navigates the beginning of the Civil War on the plantation where he lives and meets the love of his life, a new slave Henry. Filled with elements of fantasy, and romance, with the honesty and truth of Americas past as the backdrop
