Wetumpka Depot Players to Present PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL, 6/27-29

By:

The Wetumpka Depot Players are gathering pink props and costumes and are putting on the finishing touches for a children's musical based on a popular children's book. Recently named as one of the top 50 children's book of the last 25 years, Pinkalicious the Musical tells the story of a headstrong little girl who loves the color pink so much that she can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe. This colorful fun-filled family musical is sure to have everyone in the family tickled pink.

"We are delighted to offer this musical experience for our young audiences" said Kristy Meanor, Depot executive director. " Summer at the Depot is quite exciting when children are with us in the theatre. Pinkalicious the Musical is not only fun for audiences but teaches a few lessons on healthy eating. We invite children to come dressed in their favorite Pinkalicious attire and enjoy some treats before the show starts. Young patrons will enjoy visiting our PINK BEAUTY SALON before the show for special nail and hair treatment prior to the show!"

"It's going to be a pinkareffic time for children all around the River Region," said Lizzy Woodall, the young actor playing the cup cake loving, Pinkalicious. "We are having a great time putting the musical together. The show has catchy songs and a hilarious story line that even parents will enjoy."

Woodall is a rising 9th grader at Wetumpka High School and a veteran of the Depot and Alabama Shakespeare Festival stages.

Show dates for Pinkalicious the Musical are June 27 at 7pm, June 28 at 2pm and 4pm, and June 29 at 2pm. Tickets are available online at wetumpkadepot or at the box office. The Depot Theatre is located at 300 S Main Street in downtown Wetumpka.
