The Wetumpka Depot Players are no strangers to state, regional and national theatre festivals. This fall the group has selected Marsha Norman's 'Night, Mother as their selection for ACTfest in late October.

The play will be performed one night only at the Depot Theatre on October 23rd before the group travels the show to the Whole Back Stage Theatre in Lake Guntersville on October 25 for the state community theatre festival. Partnering with South City Theatre of Alabaster, the two groups have collaborated on the two woman, Pulitzer Prize winning drama. Kristy Meanor, Depot Executive Director and Sue Ellen Gerrells, South City Artistic Director will play the mother and daughter duo.

Directing the piece is Fulton Burns, theatre professor from the University of South Alabama.

"It's truly a stunning show," said Meanor. "The power of the text and the story holds audiences spellbound as they are drawn into the world of a very complex mother-daughter relationship. When Sue Ellen Gerrells approached me about working together on the project, I jumped at the chance to work on such an intense and intelligent show."

The play will be performed on Thursday, October 23 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 334.868.1440 or wetumpkadepot.com.
