The Wetumpka Depot Players are wrapping up their 32nd season with a sold out run world premiere of Pamela Parker's play A Very Second Samuel Christmas. Due to audience demand, one additional performance has been added on December 16 at 7:30pm.

The occasion will be a Christmas miracle of sorts as Parker resisted writing a Second Samuel sequel for many years. "People have asked me to write a Christmas play featuring the characters of Second Samuel, but I told them it would never happen. Then the folks at the Wetumpka Depot asked. Who could say no to them?" said Parker referring to the Wetumpka troupe who traveled Second Samuel to a nationwide theatre festival in 2011.

The play focuses on B Flat and the other colorful residents of Second Samuel, GA as they prepare for the town's annual Christmas pageant. While nothing in the pageant works out as they expected, the residents of the small town still manage to light the way for their very own Christmas miracle.

"I love these characters. They are warm and caring and funny – very funny. Pam Parker is honoring us by allowing the Depot to be the first theatre in the country to produce her new play," said Tom Salter, director of the new production. "It is a real testament to the dedication of the Depot's Board, our wonderful Executive Director Kristy Meanor, and this fantastic group of very talented actors that Ms. Parker picked our troupe for this premiere of this exceptional play."

Tickets are available on Sunday, December 16 at 7:30pm and tickets are $20. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 334.868.1440 or visiting wetumpkadepot.com. The Depot theatre is located at 300 S Main Street, in historic downtown Wetumpka.
