Started in 2003 as an extension of Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre Summer Camp program, the Actors' Studio picks up where the summer camp leaves off, offering workshops and classes during the spring and fall.

During each spring and fall session, students focus on and learn all of the aspects of theater through vocal music, acting exercises, and basic choreography, as well as scene studies and performance techniques. They do this as the class rehearses for a mini-production that is performed at the end of the session.

This year's fall session will begin on Tuesday, September 11th and meet once a week for eight weeks, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Registration is done on a first-come first serve basis and costs $250 per student. The fall session of the Actors' Studio is for student 9 – 15 years old and will be taught by Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer, and Jordan B. Stocksdale, the theatre's Creative Director. Registration may be done in person at the theater or by calling (301) 662-6600.

Students in the fall workshop will be working on Commercial Break!, a new one act play in which television commercials come to life on the stage. More and more, it seems as if commercials are everywhere! So what happens if all of the sudden commercials began to appear outside of the television set? The students will not only be performing, but will be writing their own original songs and commercial jingles for the show.
