Way Off Broadway Theater Presents THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, 10/30 & 31
By: Kelsey Denette
The Frederick theatre scene will be rockin' this Halloween as Way Off Broadway and Stock•ing Productions team up to bring the cult classic The Rocky Horror Show to the stage for a special Halloween presentation. The limited engagement will have performances on Sunday, October 30th and Monday, October 31st.
The story unfolds while on the way to visit an old college professor, two clean cut young people, Brad Majors and his fiancée Janet Weiss, run into trouble and seek help at the freaky Frankenstein mansion. However, little did they know that the mansion is inhabited by alien transsexuals from the planet Transylvania and Dr. Frank N Furter is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments. The Rocky Horror Show was written by Richard O'Brien and first premiered in London in 1973 and went on to spin off a movie adaptation in 1975 starring Tim Curry as Frank N Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet, and Barry Bostwick as Brad. Since then, O'Brien's show has become a cult phenomenon spurring productions on Broadway and around the globe.
