The Jewish Theatre Workshop Presents "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde

Those auditioning should prepare a short humorous speech. The director will also have sides from the script in addition to the memorized speech. The memorized speech should showcase not only the actor's ability to memorize, but should give us a sense of your ability to work with a text and movement.

Casting for the following roles:

JOHN WORTHING
* age range 20-late 30s

ALGERNON MONCRIEFF - his friend
* Age range 20-35

REV. CHASUBLE
* Male
* Age range 45+

MERRIMAN - Butler, small role
* Any age
* Male

LANE -Servant, small role
* Male or female
* Any age

LADY BRACKNELL- Gwendolen Fairfax's mother
* Age range 40+ (Older preferred)

GWENDOLEN FAIRFAX
* Female
* Age range - looks early 20s

CECILY CARDEW
* Female
* Age -looks 18

MISS. PRISM
* Female
* Age Range 45+

ENSEMBLE

No Friday night or Saturday Rehearsals or Performances.
Religious Observances respected (and admired).
No pay.
Enthusiastic, non-Equity actors.

Show opens Decemeber 31st, 2009

Audition Dates:
Monday October 12th, Tuesday October 13th, Thursday October 15th 6pm-9:30pm If one cannot come at that time, appointments can be made with the director by emailing her at devorah@jewishtheatreworkshop.org
