The Heritage-O'Neill Presents A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN 2/11-3/13

By:

Beginning February 11 and running through March 13 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings), THE HERITAGE - O'NEILL THEATRE COMPANY (a professional Helen Hayes Award-eligible company located in metropolitan Washington, D.C.) will be presenting Eugene O'Neill's lyrical "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" - a eulogy he wrote about his older brother, Jamie O'Neill, and which is often referred to as "the follow-up" to his masterpiece, "Long Day's Journey into Night."

Not professionally presented in the D.C. metro area since 2005 (when The Heritage-O'Neill first presented it to critical and artistic success), "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" was last revived on Broadway to critical praise during 2000, with Gabriel Byrne and Cherry Jones. The all-time highly regarded "definitive" production of the play which starred Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst was directed by Jose Quintero and presented at The Kennedy Center which then went on to Broadway in 1974.

Heading our cast is Heritage's resident actor Sean Coe (returning for his 6th production with our company, and last seen as ‘Major Cornelius Melody' in our Fall production of O'Neill's "A Touch of the Poet,") as ‘Jim Tyrone,' Lisa Nadal as ‘Josie Hogan,' Rob Weinzimer (last seen in our Fall production of "A Touch of the Poet") as ‘Phil Hogan,' and rounding out the cast, BrIan MacDonald in the dual roles of ‘Mike Hogan,' and ‘T. Stedman Harder.' Directing her 2nd production of "A Moon for the Misbegotten" is Heritage founder and Producing Artistic Director, Karey Faulkner.

THE HERITAGE-O'NEILL THEATRE is a professional, year-round resident theatre company, and concentrates its productions to the works of Eugene O'Neill, America's greatest playwright, and to the American classics (from the 1920s -1950s). Says Faulkner, "O'Neill speaks to and appeals to ALL segments of our society, not just to a select and privileged few. Our goal is to have people read, know, study, appreciate, and attend the plays of Eugene O'Neill as they do Shakespeare. Afterall, he belongs to US."

"A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" will be presented at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Saturday nights beginning February 11 through March 13 at the company's new home located in downtown Bethesda, next to the Bethesda Arts District at:
