Theatre performances at McDaniel College for Spring 2018 include:

*THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

Friday, Feb. 2-Saturday, Feb. 3, 7:30 p.m.

WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md.

McDaniel College students perform Eve Ensler's iconic play, "The Vagina Monologues." Directed by McDaniel senior Megan Smith of Federalsburg, Md., the performance is in association with V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls.

Tickets are $5 with all proceeds benefiting Rape Crisis Intervention Services of Carroll County, Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland and the One Billion Rising Foundation. For tickets, call 410-857-2530.

STUDENT-DIRECTED PLAY FESTIVAL

Wednesday, Feb. 28-Saturday March 3, 7:30 p.m.

WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md.

McDaniel's Department of Theatre Arts presents a student-directed play festival featuring short plays directed by McDaniel seniors Bryan Bowen of North Beach, Md., and Brandon Richards of Huntingtown, Md. Bowen directs David Ives's "Sure Thing," "Variations on the Death of Trotsky," "English Made Simple" and "The Other Woman." Richards directs four short plays from the collection "Trepidation Nation," including "Down to Sleep" by Victoria Stewart, "I Am Not Alone" by Richard Dresser, "Euxious" by Bridget Carpenter and "Yes" by Stephen Belber.

*THE BAKKHAI

Wednesday, April 11-Saturday, April 14, 7:30 p.m.

WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md.

McDaniel College theatre arts students perform "The Bakkhai," Euripides's classical Greek tragedy about the struggle to the death between freedom and restraint, the rational and the irrational, man and God, translated by award-winning classics scholar, poet and writer Anne Carson. Elizabeth van den Berg, chair of McDaniel's theatre arts department, directs the production.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, seniors (over 60), active military members and veterans, as well as those with a McDaniel College ID. For tickets, call 410-857-2448.
