Smörgåsbord, the second of two Senior Capstone Student Exhibitions
May 4-14
The artists' reception will be held 7-9 p.m. May 4 in Rice Gallery in Peterson Hall.
The show will feature work from seniors Kimberly Clemens, Sara Groveman, Rachel Held, Cara Miller, Tyler Mullan, Jes Osrow, Jessica Paskowski, Amelia Reiniger, David Ross, Amy Rust, Jaki Sipes, and Ashleigh Smith.

Musical Theatre/Opera Workshop
7 p.m. May 2 in WMC Alumni Hall Studio Theatre
"Love and Marriage" is the title of this year's performance by students in the Musical Theatre/Opera Workshop class. Kyle Engler, senior lecturer in Music, directs the class' nine students. David Cole is the accompanist. The program will feature works by Bizet, J. Strauss, Mozart, Gilbert and Sullivan and musical numbers from "Side Show," "Ragtime," "Songs for a New World," "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," and "Closer Than Ever." "The quintet from Carmen is an especially lively number in French that should prove to be a wonderful challenge for the students," Kyle says.

An Evening of Madrigals
7:30 p.m. May 3 in Baker Chapel
Under the direction of Margaret Boudreaux, professor of Music, the Madrigal Singers are Matthew Albertson, Colleen Alford, Whitney Arkin, Rich Esposito, Anne Hebert, Nadine Heron, Leslie Higgins, Lydia Hubble, Kathleen Levendusky, Victoria Potucek, Beau Reeves, Lauren Schwartzbart, Jeneice Shaw, Josh Vyskocil, and Tyler Workman. The theme is, as always, a fun evening of a-cappella singing. The program will feature Renaissance pieces with a smattering of contemporary works and audience sing-a-longs. Selections will include "Butterfly," by the vocal jazz ensemble Rajaton, and "Come, come," based on Arabic polyrhythms by Josh Vyskocil. Guitarist Keith Adams will join the Madrigals for three lute songs.

Student Solo Recital
7 p.m. May 4 in McDaniel Lounge
Student instrumentalists and vocalists will perform music ranging from classical to contemporary

Jazz Night
8 p.m. May 6 in Decker Center Forum
A traditional end-of-semester celebration of all things jazz, the program includes performances from three classes and members of the Music Department's voice studio, all directed by Bo Eckard, senior lecturer in Music. Ensembles include the 18-piece Thursday Jazz Ensemble, the 19-piece Monday Jazz Ensemble, and the five-piece Jazz Combo, with vocalists Brittany Robinson, DAnni Long, Henry Amankwah, Beau Reeves and Brooke Hain. This concert will feature original compositions by McDaniel Students Keith Adams, Paul Onheiser, Matt Clise and Josh Vyskocil. Syles of jazz represented include classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, Funk, Jazz-rock and Tin Pan Alley.

College Band Concert
7 p.m. May 7 in WMC Alumni Hall
McDaniel Students, community and faculty musicians perform under the direction of Linda Kirkpatrick. The concert will include a work by Robert W. Smith, featuring Latin percussion instruments and Curtis Wharton on vibraphone. The pops portion of the program will include music from the soundtrack to "Titan Spirit." The group also will perform an arrangement of Beatles tunes by Jay Bocook. Two student compositions will be conducted by both the composers, Keith Adams - "Visions of O.o" and Josh Vyskocil: "Jollity with a Touch of Blue." In addition, the band is playing a transcription of movements from Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana."

The Westminster Symphony Orchestra
3 p.m. May 8 in Scott Center at Carroll Community College

McDaniel Students, community and Carroll Community College musicians will perform under the direction of Rachel Zephir, adjunct lecturer in Music. The program will include Capriol Suite (Peter Warlock), Bach's A Minor Violin Concerto, Mock Morris (Percy Grainger), Farandole (Bizet), and Russian Sailors Dance (Reinhold Gliere).

Gospel Choir Concert
7:30 p.m. May 8 in Baker Memorial Chapel
Under the direction of Eric Byrd, lecturer in Music, more than 50 students will perform selections such as "I'm Still Here," "Come Thou Almighty King," and "Unrestrained."

Voices of Praise
5 p.m. May 9 in Decker Center Forum
Select members of the Gospel Choir will perform under the direction of Eric Byrd. Members include Tyler Buisch, Liana Fly, Rachele Fortier, Paris Fossa, Amy Glock, Fernando Gomes, Maria Mackall, Josh Poland, Lia Snow, Carl Taylor, Niya Wills, and Kennan Wilson.
