Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces TICKET TO SUCCESS Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), a 501(c)(3) charitable arts organization in Frederick, Maryland, understands that every student in Frederick County deserves a ticket to success. Ticket to Success, a fundraiser to help underwrite the costs of MET's Fun Company In-School Residency Program, seeks to raise much needed funding to provide equal access for students in the Frederick County Public School system, regardless of their ability to pay.

Participation in the performing arts as a young person is paramount in building social skills and empathy for our fellow human beings. Statistics back up the fact that participation in the performing arts translates into better comprehensive understanding of the core academic subjects & higher test scores. Despite these truths, the arts are not considered a core academic subject and all too often are relegated to only some students at some schools, whose PTAs can afford to provide arts programming to their student bodies. Through the Ticket to Success Arts & Education Breakfast, MET hopes to raise $10,000 on the morning of October 30th, 2018, to underwrite and support this vital community need for local schools whose PTAs cannot bear the cost of bringing the Fun Company In-School Residency Program to their students.

With nearly 15% of the requested funding already in place through support and sponsorship by Frederick County Bank and Mr. Stephen Parnes, former Executive Director of the Frederick Arts Council and Vice Chair of MET's Board of Trustees, additional Ticket to Success funds will be raised via an ask made at the end of a complimentary breakfast prepared by Renaissance Catering, including a live performance by local students who are participating in a Fun Company In-School Residency and words of support offered by Waverly Elementary School's Co-Principal, Ms. Jan Hollenbeck, whose students participated in the program last school year.

Ticket to Success: The 2018 Arts & Education Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at the Delaplaine Arts Center from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Reservations to attend may be made by phone at (301) 694-4744 or by contacting Lorrie Lee at rsvp@marylandensemble.org no later than October 24th. As a community, we have the power to help children of Frederick County write their own tickets to success.

MARYLAND ENSEMBLE THEATRE MISSION: Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is dedicated to the creation and production of extraordinary theatre art through the combined voices of a diverse ensemble of professional resident artists who are influential leaders in the community and visionaries in the art of theatre.
