Cohesion Theatre Company & Strand Theater Company to Present THE PILLOW BOOK

By: May. 29, 2015
Cohesion Theatre Company and The Strand Theater Company are proud to announce their partnership on the Baltimore premiere production of The Pillow Book. Written by native Baltimore playwright Anna Moench, The Pillow Book is a journey through the real, the imagined, the absurd, and the parallel. Deb and John are married. Deb and John are strangers. Deb saves John's life on a mountain. John blinds Deb on the Serengeti. Told with a cast of three, The Pillow Book examines the life in and around one couple's past, present, and the possibilities that could have been.

The production will run Thursdays through Sundays, June 25 through July 12 at Church on the Square, 1025 S. Potomac Street and is directed by Jonas David Grey.

The Strand, known for championing challenging and provocative theater that especially celebrates women's diverse voices and perspectives, is thrilled to be partnering with Cohesion in their inaugural season to bring this impactful production to life. "It's wonderful to see a fellow company committed to producing works by women playwrights make great strides in our community", says Strand Managing Director, Elena Kostakis. "We are excited for Baltimore to experience the fruits of this partnership!"

Cohesion was founded with a goal of broadening the scope of community and collaboration amongst local theatre companies in Baltimore. This partnership with The Strand is one of their more significant steps toward that goal in their inaugural season, and both companies are proud to take this opportunity to pool their resources and talents in this way. "Working with The Strand is a true privilege, and we are hopeful that this is just the beginning of a long and rewarding collaboration between our companies", said Cohesion Co-Founder, Brad Norris.
