Amber Iman to Headline ATMTC's 2019 Gala

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recipient of 62 Helen Hayes Nominations, announces that Broadway's Amber Iman will perform at its 2019 Mad Hatter's Honest Tea Party Gala, honoring Seth Goldman, Co-Founder and TeaEO Emeritus of Honest Tea and Executive Chairman of Beyond Meats, on March 14, 2019. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on the ultimate backstage experience to see Broadway's Hamilton, the musical (of which Amber Iman was part of the national cast) and take a backstage tour. Adventure Theatre MTC's 2019 Pre-Professional Company will sing with Amber Iman at the culmination of the evening performing Stephen Schwartz's (Wicked, Godspell) Colors of the Wind.

Michael Bobbitt, Artistic Director says of Iman, "I'm so proud that she was my student. Amber's pure talent and dedication to performance is an inspiration to the students with whom she'll perform."

Amber Iman made her Broadway debut as the High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone, in Soul Doctor, earning rave reviews and a nomination for the prestigious Clive Barnes Award. A recipient of the Emery Battis Award for Acting Excellence & a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical, for Shakespeare Theatre Company's Man of La Mancha, Amber returned to Broadway in Shuffle Along, Or, The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed. The show, nominated for 10 Tony Awards and boasted an all-star cast of Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Billy Porter, Joshua Henry, and Brandon Victor Dixon. Marking her first national tour, Amber played Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds for a year with the 11-time Tony Award winning smash hit HAMILTON.

Two different raffle prizes are available for the public to purchase. The first prize includes include a Hamilton Backstage Experience, in which the winner will enjoy a one night stay at the Inter-Continental in Times Square to see the story of the ten dollar founding father brought to life on Broadway, complete with a backstage tour. The second prize is a family trip to New York City to see Disney's Frozen on Broadway, which includes hotel and Vamoose bus travel.

Leon Seemann, Managing Director of Adventure Theatre MTC, states, "We are definitely excited about the evening. It's so important to bring in role models for our students. Amber shows our students the reward of intensive training."

Adventure Theatre MTC's raffle and evening's proceeds from the Fund-A-Need will go to support its operations and its efforts in Education, Diversity, and Inclusion including its Assistant Director Fellowship for People of Color.
