Academy Award & Golden Globe Nominated and BAFTA Award Winning Actor Gary Busey will star on stage next month, joining the cast of the longest running Off Broadway play in NYC history, the murder mystery Perfect Crime. Mr. Busey will step into the funny, romantic thriller to take on the role of Lionel McAuley, a brilliant, charismatic serial killer for a limited two-week engagement, November 21st to December 4th at The Theater Center, 1627 Broadway. www.perfect-crime.com 

La MaMa just celebrated its 55th season with a singular Gala Event like no other last night, November 10, at La MaMa Annex (66 E.4 St.). The Grammy-winning, co-author of the Tony-winning musical THE COLOR PURPLE and legendary party-hostess Allee Willis threw one of her renowned bashes, created especially as a benefit for La MaMa: BADEYA BABY! or HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE THE THEATRE. 

Deborah Cox and Judson Mills will soon lead the North American tour of THE BODYGUARD, which plays first at Millburn New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse. Performances are set to begin Friday, November 25, 2016, for a limited run through Sunday, January 1, 2017, prior to the official national tour opening at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN, on January 10, 2017.

#EduHam is a series of HAMILTON Wednesday matinees made available to New York City schools with a high concentration of students from low-income families for the ticket price of only $10. This educational partnership, made possible through a $1.46 million grant by The Rockefeller Foundation, is not only providing 20,000 NYC public school students with the opportunity to see HAMILTON on Broadway, but provides educational material by Gilder Lehrman to incorporate material from the musical into the American History curriculum. Wednesday night's opening of Kristin Chenoweth's MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY allowed BroadwayWorld backstage for an exclusive look at things that you usually don't get to see.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 Kristin Chenoweth's MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY opened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre . After the show, friends and family headed over to Rockefeller Center and up to the Rainbow Room Bar - called Bar SixtyFive. Everyone celebrated Chenoweth's stunning performance on a beautiful night above the city where revelers could go outside and enjoy the romantic panoramic view of Manhattan.

Last night Kristin Chenoweth opened her limited run show, MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY, to a packed house at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. She graced the audience with two very generous acts of some of the greatest songs from The Great White Way and some standards from her new album, THE ART OF ELEGANCE.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported,  two-time Tony Award winner Tammy Grimes passed away on Sunday in Englewood, N.J. She was 82-years-old.

In spring 2017, Christy Altomare will lead Anastasia on Broadway,  opening on April 24, 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the new play Love, Love Love, directed byMichael Mayer, which opened on October 19, 2016 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The play stars Richard Armitage, Alex Hurt, Zoe Kazan, Amy Ryan and Ben Rosenfield.

Chita Rivera's landmark concert CHITA: NOWADAYS will arrive at Carnegie Hall on Monday, November 7 (8PM), marking the the first time the Broadway legend will headline the iconic venue. The two-time Tony Award winner will also welcome previously-announced guests Alan Cumming, Andy Karl, Javier Muñoz and Brandon Victor Dixon, the new stars of Hamilton on Broadway; and New York City Gay Men's Chorus.

Broadway's first a cappella musical will open at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street) on December 11, and the cast of IN TRANSIT is well into rehearsals to put finishing touches on the show. The company just met the press and you can check out photos from the special day below!
