Maestro Luke Frazier and The American Pops Orchestra - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - continued their all-star 2016-2017 season with Don't Rain on My Parade: 75 Years of Barbra Streisand on Friday, January 13 at The George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium (730 21st Street NW, Washington, DC).

Lucas Hnath's new play, A Doll's House, Part 2 will come to Broadway in a production directed by Tony Award®-winner Sam Gold. A wildly inventive new American play that picks up after Henrik Ibsen's most cherished work concludes, A Doll's House, Part 2 will boast an all-star cast that features three-time Emmy Award-winner and three-time Tony Award®-nominee Laurie Metcalf, Academy Award-winner Chris Cooper, Tony Award®-winner Jayne Houdyshell and two-time Tony Award®-nominee Condola Rashad. Beginning preview performances at Broadway's John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on Saturday, April 1, 2017, this 16-week engagement will officially open on Thursday, April 27.

Avenue Q is the Tony Award winning musical featuring a cast of people and puppets, now in its 13th year on stage in NYC and around the globe. Avenue Q marked the occasion of its 3,000th performance at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St. in NYC) on January 4, 2017. The landmark performance was just celebrated with pre and post-show festivities bar-mitzvah/bat-mitzvah style as the musical turns 13, and begins its 14th year on New York stages!

Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton), will begin previews March 31 and open April 26, 2017 at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45 Street). The new musical, starringing Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella) and Corey Cott (Gigi), features music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics byRobert Taylor and Richard Oberacker.  Check out photos of the marquee below!

Rehearsals began today, January 12 for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical Miss Saigon, which will return to its original home, The Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway) beginning performancesWednesday, March 1. The original production of Miss Saigon opened at the same theater on April 11, 1991 and played there through January 28, 2001. Directed by Laurence Connor (the recent hit revival of LES MISERABLES, School of Rock), the Broadway return of Miss Saigon will feature four of its London stars, Jon JonBriones as The Engineer, Eva Noblezada as Kim, Alistair Brammer as Chris and Rachelle Ann Go as Gigi. The cast also includes Katie Rose Clarke as Ellen, Nicholas Christopher as John, Devin Ilaw as Thuy. Lianah Sta. Ana will play the role of Kim at certain performances. Miss Saigon has its official opening Thursday, March 23. Miss Saigon will play a limited engagement through January 13, 2018 before launching a North American tour later in the year.

Roundabout Theatre Company will soon present Steven Levenson's (The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin; Dear Evan Hansen) new play, If I Forget, directed by Daniel Sullivan. The cast includes Larry Bryggman (Picnic), Maria Dizzia ('Orange is the New Black'), Tasha Lawrence (Good People), Jeremy Shamos (Noises Off), Seth Steinberg, Kate Walsh ('Grey's Anatomy'), and Gary Wilmes (Irrational Man).

New Yiddish Rep's revival of the controversial classic 'God of Vengeance' just hosted a talk-back, allowing audiences to delve deeply into aspects of this groundbreaking play by Sholem Asch. Just last night Rebecca Taichman (the director and co-creator of the Broadway-bound play 'Indecent,' which is based on the history of the play, and Gene Steinberg), headed to LaMaMa for the discussion and she was joined by some of her Indecent cast. Just yesterday, Gil Faizon (Nick Kroll) and George St. Geegland (John Mulaney) celebrated 100 performances of their hit masterpiece OH, HELLO on BROADWAY.  Performances for OH, HELLO on BROADWAY began Friday September 23 and opened to critical acclaim on October 10. The show will run through January 22 2017.  

International superstar Mel B, 'Scary Spice' of the iconic Spice Girls and judge on 'America's Got Talent,' just began her eight-week limited engagement (through Sunday, February 19, 2017) in CHICAGO. Now in its 20th year on Broadway, Chicago plays at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St., NYC).
