Student Blog: My Second ActMay 5, 2025I’ve been a student for basically my entire life. I have not always known what lay ahead for me but I always had classes and homework to keep me busy and keep me grounded. Now, however, having just graduated with my master’s degree, I took my proverbial final bow for this era of my life. In this second act, I’ll keep being a student. My show will and must go on… because it's only too late if we tell ourselves it is.
Student Blog: How to (Maybe?) Combat Burnout: Your Power and the Power of ArtMay 5, 2025I have not been in the theatre world, for a long time. I have never even been a theater student. I actually just auditioned for my first show this past week. I did not get a part but it was still exhilarating. I am proud of myself for even showing up. I think that is a big deal. It must get tiring to put oneself in such a vulnerable position to not see the result you want BUT that does not take away what you learn about yourself, your strength, and the craft with every step of training.
Student Blog: Tools that Help Me in Life & Art - Redefining “Productivity”March 11, 2025Despite my disorganization, there are tools that, when I actually use them, really help me manage and balance different facets of my life. Remember who you are and what you need aside from what you do. Organize your duties but leave time open for unexpected fun and joy. Remember why you love what you love and what it adds to your life. Live with intention. Maybe sooner rather than later, some of your plans turned into action will lead to goals being achieved and dreams coming true in ways you never expected at all.
Student Blog: Back-to-School: Discovery & New OpportunitiesFebruary 17, 20252025, while proceeding achingly slowly and all-too-quickly all at once, is in full swing. It is proving to be a year of discovery and new opportunities. In the coming months, I am going to continue doing that work. I hope to slowly find my footing and gain more confidence. I want to continue finding my voice, both metaphorically and literally, and developing this craft which I hope to one day be able to call mine.
