I had always enjoyed writing. I have written countless miniature stories and plays since I was nine years old. Naturally, when I got to college, I had figured maybe writing was something I wanted to do, but I decided against it. I am lucky enough that my theatre had the opportunity for students to write and direct their own one-act play. After acting in this show my freshman year, I knew I wanted to write one for my sophomore year. So, I got to work and took a screenwriting class in the spring of my freshman year to help me. With the assistance of my teacher, I was pushed into actually submitting my script to be put on stage, and I was fortunate enough to be picked.

I am not saying you need to go to the gym and make it your routine, you do whatever you want. However, I am saying that if you want to make something routine, it will not be easy, but it is doable. You just need to stick with it, you need to throw yourself into it and just keep going for it.

To me, summer is such a weird time. As a college student specifically, I feel like everyone wants you to have the time of your life, while also working your ass off at a job to get money, or working for an unpaid internship to just try and get a foot in the door at a possible job in a field you enjoy.

This summer I have already come up with some summer 'resolutions' and some summer bucket list items. So, I thought I would share for people who want to make this summer absolutely fantastic.

It really has not fully registered for me that I am an upperclassman, let alone that I just finished my junior year of college. With the pandemic, everything has kind of felt like a whirlwind and a blur.

If I have any advice to anyone who wants to switch their major, if you're unfamiliar with the major, take the intro class with a really good teacher, and ask them questions, be persistent with the class, because you never really know what's going to happen when you change your major.

For everyone who loves theatre, but feels like it might be a little late to join.

I've said it before, but as a 'new' theatre kid, I have struggled a lot to really enter into the world of theatre in such a short period of time. With that, it does not mean I haven't picked up some roles that I would adore playing at one point or another.

As a disclaimer, these are not every trait of the types in the enneagram, just some of the ones I chose to highlight while doing this article. I really love the enneagram topic, but if you are basing yourself off the traits I write down, please take a more detailed test of the enneagram, you can find them online, and with that, let’s go!

I still to this day wrestle with myself, telling myself I have to be better than the next person, or at the very least, just don’t be last. I realize that the mindset only drags me down, when you compare yourself to other people you’ll never win, you’ll never see yourself in a place that’s alright, where it’s okay to not be good at everything and to just learn, to go along for the ride and learn.

There are only certain musicals that really allow me to get truly lost in the music. A set of lyrics that allow me to fall into my own world, allow myself to live in that theatrical world, lose the reality of this world and get lost in another. Some of these might just be entire musicals, some of them might just be specific songs.
