If you do not see something you would be interested in, you can always start your own group! Fordham does a great job of making sure there are opportunities for everyone to try new things or to do what they already know they love.

If someone turns in an essay that they didn’t write and the teacher finds out that it’s AI, then they give it a zero, and there are meetings and possible suspensions and a whole mess of things that follow the AI discovery. If anything, I say don’t do it to save yourself the headache of the possibility of getting caught.

He stuck his hand out in the classic, dramatic theater kid way, and there it was. His hand was shaking. I couldn’t believe it. Professional Broadway actors still have their hands shaking out of nerves?!

I get it can be hard to be by yourself, especially if you have a laundry list of things to do, but I promise you, if you take time for yourself, even if it’s only for an hour, the quality of your work will be a million times better. Also, listen to your body, it knows what it needs.

No show, casting panel, or process will be the same, so take these tips with a grain of salt. These are what I have found to work for me and what I have seen the best results with. Trust your gut and audition with confidence.

I am by no means an expert, but I have come up with a few ways that I manage my work-life balance that has resulted in getting good grades and seeing doing what I want to do (which is usually going to a show).

There are no words to describe the adrenaline rush of being in an audition room or seeing your name on a cast list. The biggest things to remember are to be prepared, be confident, and have fun. Theatre is supposed to be a fun and creative experience and the pressure of an audition shouldn’t dampen it.

For as long as I can remember I have been performing in some capacity. I was always humming a tune around the house or bopping from dance class to dance class with my younger cousin Adeline. My parents thought it was important to immerse me in the arts from a young age and for that, I am forever grateful.
