From their South Water Street 'studios,' Next Act Theatre presents their own radio adaptation of the beloved Bedford Falls fable celebrating the best of the holiday spirit. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE Live Radio Show runs November 15 - December 9, 2012 at Next Act's new home, 255 S. Water St. in Walker's Point.

New World Stages will once again present the new Holiday favorite, Jackie Hoffman's A Chanukah Charol, her holiday-themed, pseudo-autobiographical, one-woman show inspired by Patrick Stewart's A Christmas Carol. Co-writer Michael Schiralli will direct.

Holiday Party of One, created by Alison Burns and Karla Hartley and directed by Karla Hartley, will be presented at the Stageworks Theatre, from November 29 through December 16. Abingdon Theatre Company is pleased to announce that performances have resumed for its world premiere of MARCH MADNESS by Mike Vogel, with previews returning as of 7pm on Thursday, November 1, at the Abingdon Theatre Company's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). The creative team behind the recent acclaimed Southwark Playhouse musicals, Parade and Mack & Mabel, are returning to the Vault to present the Broadway musical comedy, Victor/Victoria. Directed by Thom Southerland and produced by Danielle Tarento, it is currently running at The Vault at Southwark Playhouse through Saturday December 15.

The Alden in McLean, Virginia, brings Hot Club of San Francisco to the East coast for a concert of Django Reinhart-inspired hot jazz, 'Cinema Vivant,' on Saturday, November 17, at 8 p.m. The Alden is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave in McLean, VA, and tickets are $25 for the general public and $18 for MCC tax district residents.

Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi will lead his first Met performances of Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, in a new production by renowned opera director David Alden, beginning November 8. The staging is the first of two new Verdi productions in the current Met season, which includes seven operas by the great composer in honor of the 200th anniversary of his birth.

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, is thrilled to welcome back Belgian actor and master of laughter and physical comedy Jos Houben who presents his acclaimed The Art of Laughter, winner of the Total Theatre Award at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival, today, October 27 at FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.

The University of Chicago's Smart Museum of Art presents Awash in Color: French and Japanese Prints, a new exhibition that examines the distinct yet overlapping traditions of color printmaking in France and Japan. On view from October 4, 2012 to January 20, 2013, the exhibition presents more than one hundred and thirty exquisite prints and illustrated books from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries.

Brett Smock and Drew Brody will present a reading of the new musical, The Mudge Boy on October 30th, 2012. This powerful, controversial new work is based on Michael Burke's film, The Mudge Boy and has been in development for several years.

The Unicorn Theatre's Christmas show, The Prince and The Pauper is a lively adaptation by Jemma Kennedy of Mark Twain's classic story of confused identities. Set in a Tudor London, a young street urchin Tom Canty has a chance meeting with the heir to the throne, Prince Edward VI and by pure coincidence they find they look almost identical.

TheatreWorks and Goethe-Institut will present Eszter Salamon performing at 72-13 on 23 and 24 November. In Dance for Nothing, Salamon will be performing choreography to John Cage's music, Lecture on Nothing (1949), followed by a discussion.

Rising folk-rock singer-songwriter Sierra West is celebrating her 2012 Out Music Award (OMA) nomination for Best Folk/Country Song for her song and title track to her new EP, 'Hold Your Fire."
