Folk-rock singer/songwriter Sierra West is celebrating her 2012 Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) nomination for her song and title track to her new EP, "Hold Your Fire." Sierra and other nominees will be honored at the ceremonies that will take place in Hollywood on November 15, 2012. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe.

"Hold Your Fire," produced by drummer/producer Lorne Entress at Signature Sounds studio in Connecticut, was released in August 2012 via Sierra's publishing company 21 Monkeys. Three of the five songs on the EP were penned by Sierra at one of the "Writing It Up In The Garden" artist retreats hosted several times a year by Nerissa Nields, a member of the folk band The Nields. "In Your Hands," the first single off of the album, is currently playing on the Americana radio circuit. The EP also nabbed a coveted spot on the AOL Music CD Listening Party.

The native New Englander (now based in Southern California) performs regularly to raise money for Right Turn (, an innovative Arlington, Massachusetts based program that offers intensive outpatient and residential treatment services in a uniquely creative environment, and Helping Hands (, the only non-profit organization in the world that raises and trains capuchin monkeys to provide in-home assistance to people living with spinal cord injury or other mobility impairments, inspiring the name of Sierra's publishing company, 21 Monkeys Music.

The EP is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby.
