Anoushka Shankar, who learned at the knee of her sitar maestro father, Ravi Shankar, will cross the 1,000-year-old bridge between Indian classical and Spanish flamenco roots on her U.S. "Traveller" tour, stopping at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Jazz at Lincoln Center will produce Ethel Waters: Blues, Broadway, and Jazz as part of the second season of the Jazz & Popular Song series. Hosted by singer-pianist Michael Feinstein, who also serves as Director for the series, this concert celebrates the decades-spanning career of entertainer Ethel Waters.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres announced today its exclusive arrangement to produce the Midwest Premiere of XANADU on the Main Stage. XANADU was named "Outstanding New Musical" for the 2008 Broadway season by the Outer Critics Circle. Chanhassen's XANADU will open to one week of preview performances from June 1 - 7, with an official Opening Night on Friday, June 8.

The award-winning playwrighting duo Larry Larson and Eddie Levi Lee return to Horizon Theatre with the world premiere of their new play The Waffle Palace: Smothered, Covered and Scattered 24/7/365. Inspired by real life news stories about Waffle House restaurants, the play follows a Midtown diner owner, his staff, and a hilarious cast of customers as they battle to keep The Waffle Palace open against encroaching real estate developers. The Waffle Palace runs May 11 - June 24, 2012.
