According to Page Six, the Grateful Dead all-star tribute album will hit shelves this May 20th. The album, which will be a 59-track box set, will benefit the HIVAIDS nonprofit Red Hot. 

Earlier this week, SFGate released a 100-year look at the theatres and marquees of the San Francisco area. The look included 75 photos spanning the past 100 years and captions placing each one in San Francisco's theatre history.

On Thursday, Fortune Magazine released a list of The World's 50 Greatest Leaders, and Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda was named among them! Other leaders on the list include Pope Francis, John Oliver, John Legend, and many more.

An article on The Dallas Observer by Katy Lemieux highlighted the powerful, influential women of the theatre scene in Dallas today. Lemieux credits Margo Jones, who opened a Dallas theatre before her death in 1955, as one of the leaders in this movement.

Idina Menzel paid a visit to HAMILTON last night, and stopped by her old dressing room from the IF/THEN days after the show. Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted a photo of the visit. Check it out below!

Last month, cast members of Hingham High School Drama Club's The Shuddersome Tales of Poe performed at two in-school assemblies in preparation for the first round of Festival, a state-wide event hosted by the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild. Though the first assembly went off without a hitch, there were reportedly 'obnoxious shouts echoed from students across the auditorium when the house lights were turned off.' The comments were described by one student at the assembly as 'sexual, derogatory, and 'homophobic.'

Lefra Productions is already well-known for its productions of hilarious farces, which have been entertaining audiences in South Africa since 2012. This year, Frans Swart's Afrikaans translation of Ray Cooney en John Chapman's runaway hit  DAA' GAAT DIE BRUID! will tour the country, with a run all set to take place at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn.

This April, Patrick Rinn (HBO's "Angels in America") will debut his one-man show. "I NEVER PROMISED YOU … ROSE GARDEN" at NYC's famed Stage 72 at the Triad Theatre (158 W. 72nd St.) for four performances only.

Symphony Siren and Broadway Diva N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical and Sondheim and Sondheim) is continuing to make audiences rise to their feet, as she joins conductor Jack Everly and the BSO Super Pops for the thrilling Broadway Divas show, Thursday - Saturday, March 31 - Saturday, April 2, 2016 (8:00pm) and Sunday, April 3, 2016 (3:00pm).

After a landmark year which yielded an unprecedented Centennial Season and the coveted Regional Theatre Tony Award®, Cleveland Play House (CPH) is following up on the heels of the past year's success with a dynamic, stimulating and engaging 2016-17 Season.  CPH staff, led by Artistic Director Laura Kepley, announced the titles of the new season today on the Allen Theatre stage to a full house.  The theme of this season is "moving forward" and audiences will have plenty to look forward to with a season that encompasses history, mystery, comedy, drama and even a brand new Disney musical.  CPH's 101st Season would not be possible without CPH's generous sponsors, donors, patrons, and community partners.

On Tuesday, March 8, facilities supervisors at historic Masquers Playhouse in Point Richmond, CA, discovered major damage to the theater's primary interior support structure. An immediate investigation determined that the theater should not be reopened to the general public until its structural integrity is restored. By all current indications, this process will take months on end.

BRIGHT STAR's writing team Steve Martin and Edie Brickell appeared on CBS Sunday Morning with Rita Braver to talk about their collaboration on the musical, which is now in previews on Broadway. Check out the video here!

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Hugh Jackman and Luke Evans visited the Jonathan Ross Show this week. While they were there, they had a sing-off to determine which of the two is the best Gaston, given that Gaston was one of Jackman's first stage roles and that Evans is set to play Gaston in the upcoming live action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Check out the video here!

To close their 49th season, Reston Community Players presents the classic drama, OUR TOWN, recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, by Thornton Wilder from April 22 through May 7, 2016.

Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY is set for a second regional production at the Cleveland Playhouse for the spring of 2017. This announcement confirms that FREAKY FRIDAY will not be heading to Broadway and will continue to follow the MTI trajectory. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical will also play the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA this fall.

According to the Washington Post, the national touring cast of ANNIE got heckled this week at DC's National Theatre. The heckler attended the show Tuesday night, and is said to have yelled, 'That was terrible!' from his seat, following the number 'We'd Like to Thank You Herbert Hoover.' There were no reported reactions from the cast or the other audience members during the incident.
