Actors' Summit   Akron's Professional theater is pleased to announce the opening of the  1980 Pulitzer Prize winning play Talley's Folly, by Lanford Wilson. The show will have a preview performance on Thursday April 14 at  8 p.m. The opening night show is scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2016.  A dessert reception with the director and cast follows the performance on opening night. The show runs until May 1. 

Beyond the Usual and Bootleg Theater proudly present the World Premiere of Tell Me I'm Pretty, a hilarious and riveting new solo show - written and performed by Joshua Silverstein and directed by Diana Wyenn. Tackling race, gender, and poverty in America through storytelling, spoken word, vocal percussion, and hip hop, Tell Me I'm Pretty opens its five-week run at Bootleg Theater today, April 8, 2016. Performances run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm through Saturday, May 7, 2016.

This May, Chunky Move presents the world premiere of LUCID, an intimate performance for a dancer, an actor and multiple cameras, which digs deeply into how we form, monitor and edit our own image in response to our heroes and icons, our imagined worlds and censored dreams.

David Liebe Hart (best known from Adult Swim's Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) presents hilarious multimedia spectacular, complete with music, puppets and videos, with backing musician Jonah "Th' Mole" Mociun.

Rarely does a playwright's first play become an instant hit, but when Anna Longaretti's poignant comedy Sex Cells was first presented in 2013 at the Riverside Studios, London, it left audiences laughing and crying in equal measure. The play also drew critical acclaim. Sex Cells is soon to have its Australian Premiere, when Adelaide's Galleon Theatre Group presents it at the Domain Theatre, Marion Cultural Centre.

Ensemble Theatre, Australia's longest, non-funded continuously running professional theatre company has today been given a major gift of $300,000 from The Balnaves Foundation.

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, presents an all-youth cast production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical The King And I with special permission from the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization in NYC. The Hershey Community Chorus will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner and Bake Sale on Tuesday, April 19, 2015, at The First United Methodist Church located at 64 W. Chocolate Ave, Hershey.  Tickets for spaghetti with homemade meat or marinara sauce accompanied with tossed green salad, bread, butter, and beverage are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under 12.  The dinner will be served from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm or until all is sold.  Take outs are available. 

"Jane Eyre" is a musical drama based on the classic novel by Charlotte Bronte - it premiered on Broadway in 2000 and received five Tony Awards, including "Best Musical". The Barn Players will present the musical opening Friday, April 15th through Sunday May 1st at the Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission. The play is rated "PG" and features husband and wife, Alisha and Matt Richardson, in starring roles; Alisha as Jane Eyre and Matt as Rochester.

The greater Binghamton area's longest running Equity theatre will celebrate its 10th anniversary season by premiering four plays never seen before in this region.  Included are two new plays just beginning to be produced around the country.  Both are from authors whose previous work has been seen exclusively on CRT's stage in the Southern Tier.

Genesis Theatrical Productions will present the U.S. premiere of the play Satie et Cocteau: A Rehearsal of a Play of a Composer by a Poet by Canadian playwright Mike Czuba about the classical music composer Erik Satie and his complex relationship with the surrealist poet Jean Cocteau.

Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the ANA-4A's Joint Policy Committee on Broadcast Talent Union Relations (JPC) have reached a tentative agreement on terms for successor television and radio commercials contracts, subject to approval by the SAG-AFTRA National Board of Directors later this month.
