Arizona Theatre Company Appoints Mark Cole as New Managing Director

Arizona Theatre Company announced today that the Board of Trustees has appointed Mark Cole as the new Managing Director. Cole was formerly the General Manager of Miami City Ballet which performs in four cities in South Florida. A veteran of both the theatre and ballet world, he will begin full time duties on August 15, 2011. He succeeds Interim Managing Director Jessica L. Andrews, who has been filling the position since former Managing Director Kevin Moore left in October 2010 after 10 years with ATC.

Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. This performance documentary examines what makes this unique entertainment concept/act work. Performance footage and insights by the original Blue Men (done in high tech/animation digital style) leads viewers through an exploration of the creative process that makes the production an audience hit around the world. When Hackmatack Playhouse Owner/Producer Michael Guptill greeted patrons preceding a show last Wednesday night, he mentioned that the next show, opening Wednesday, August 17 would be Alfred Hitchcock's 'The 39 Steps.' A woman from the audience shouted out, 'It's a great show, everyone must see it!' Guptill was pleased, 'Wow, there's an unplanned, spontaneous, compliment. It is a great play!' 'I'll be here!' she replied.

SONiC - Sounds of a New Century - a brand new festival of 21st century music by more than 100 composers age 40 and under, will take over New York from Friday, October 14 through Saturday, October 22, 2011. Events will range from a daylong marathon to a DJ/VJ night, from a free symphony concert at the World Financial Center Winter Garden to collaborations between emerging choreographers and composers.
