Playwright, Robert Caisley of Moscow, Idaho, the author of 6th Street Playhouse's current West Coast Premiere of 'Kite's Book: Tales of an 18th Century Hitman,' will be in Santa Rosa to attend final performances of his swashbuckling play about crime and justice. Caisley will also participate in two special events at the theater focusing on the themes of the play.

Jimmy Webb, Chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the slate of 2012 nominees for induction. The organization, which is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of those composers and lyricists who create popular music around the world, holds annual elections to determine those who will make up the roster of inductees for the following year.

British choreographer Wayne McGregor, one of England's choreographic crown jewels, has science on his mind, a belief that it can partner well with dance, and help inspire new ideas. 'FAR,' McGregor's most recent dance, which premieres at Peak Performances October 27-30, is the product of just such a collaboration.

42nd Street Moon presents the American premiere of a full production of THREE SISTERS, with music by Jerome Kern, and book/lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. San Francisco audiences first enjoyed this little-known Kern and Hammerstein musical when 42nd Street Moon's Lost Musical Series presented the American premiere in 1995, in a concert format. With the help of a recent National Endowment for the Arts Grant, the company is now able to mount the first full production ever seen in the United States. Low-priced previews begin November 30, and the show opens on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6 pm at the Eureka Theatre. It runs through December 18.

Visiting drum and dance troupe Street Beat will host a clinic with local dance and drum students on Saturday, October 22nd at 5pm. The clinic will feature a troupe of dance students and a troupe of drummers who will work with the Los Angeles-based Street Beat. Dancers will work with choreographer Ryan Johnson in one area while drummers will work in the main theater with Ben Hansen, Creator, Director, Composer & Drummer for Street Beat. After 45 minutes of instruction, the two groups will come together for a dazzling production number.
