Cinderella welcomed its first same sex proposal last night, September 4, directly following the 7:30pm show. The couple, Jason Aronne and Kunal Ghose, lives in San Diego and have been together for two years. Ghose said: 'Growing up in India you don't hear many western stories but you do read Cinderella and it left a lasting impression of finding 'happily ever after' on me. The Fab Four hit Broadway this summer in Let It Be, a spectacular concert experience direct from London's West End, where it continues its celebrated open-ended run, featuring 40 of The Beatles' greatest hits. Born as a West End production to celebrate the legendary band's 50th anniversary, Let It Be uses state-of-the-art projection technology and 3D sound to put audiences at the heart of The Beatles' meteoric rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool's Cavern Club, through the heights of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces with live performances of songs including 'Twist and Shout,' 'She Loves You' and 'Drive My Car,' 'Yesterday,' 'Hey Jude,' 'Come Together' and, of course, 'Let It Be.' LET IT BE began previews Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Broadway's St. James Theatre and opened last night, July 24th. The show will play a limited engagement through December 29, 2013. For the past ten years, Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland has been the ultimate place for Broadway folks to mingle and celebrate each other, as evidenced by Monday night's jammed-to-the-walls open-mic-fest. The cast of The Mystery of Edwin Drood staged a reunion, with Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block,Bobby Creighton, Andy Karl, Jessie Mueller, and Betsy Wolfe all grabbing the mic separately and together with a live performance of their YouTube hit, 'Bustle Fluffah!' Drood composer/writer Rupert Holmes then surprised everyone by singing his #1 hit, 'The Pina Colada Song!' (Lucky audience members won the new Drood cast recording, too.)
