The 2012 New York International Fringe Festival presents the world-premiere of SWEET TOOTH, a one-act play written by Z.N. Lupetin and directed by Gina Rattan. Performances will take place between August 18th and 25th, 2012 at The Cherry Lane Studio Theater-38 Commerce Street, New York, NY. Performances will be held on the following days: Saturday August 18th at 8:15pm, Tuesday August 21st at 4:30pm, Wednesday August 22nd at 9:30pm, Thursday August 23rd at 7:00pm, and Saturday August 25th at 6:30pm. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) and Theater for a New Audience (Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz; Managing Director Dorothy Ryan and Chairman of the Board, Henry Christensen III) will present THE WALLACE SHAWN-ANDRÉ GREGORY PROJECT in 2013, a celebration of the remarkable 40-year collaboration between Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. The two plays, THE DESIGNATED MOURNER and GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS, will offer a long overdue retrospective of Shawn's work as well as an opportunity for him to appear on the New York stage again under Gregory's direction. The Public Theater presented Shawn's first play in New York, Our Late Night, in 1975, directed by Gregory.

Gore Vidal, the writer recognized as one of the foremost authors and essayists of the last several decades, passed away yesterday at 86 years old. Vidal is currently represented on Broadway by the star-studded revival of THE BEST MAN, which began a limited run on April 1, was twice extended, and will close on September 9. THE BEST MAN also saw a Broadway run in 2000, at which time Vidal appeared on Theater Talk - view the appearance below.

The JERSEY BOYS film, adapted by John Logan, is moving forward full speed ahead. Movie Hole today revealed the casting notice, which confirms that IRON MAN director Jon Favreau will helm the adaptation.
