SAG-AFTRA today received a new, national charter from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations. SAG-AFTRA joins 55 other unions, comprising more than 12 million working men and women, under the AFL-CIO banner.

Vietnamese refugee, former gang member, and now rising Hollywood actor Trieu Tran comes to Seattle to tell what's being described as 'a compelling coming of age story in his fearless one man show Uncle Ho to Uncle Sam.' ACT - A Contemporary Theatre will stage the world premiere of Tran's bold autobiographical solo performance directed by Robert Egan. Egan also assisted in creating the script.

The award-winning Elephant Theatre Company, David Fofi and Lindsay Allbaugh, Artistic Directors, has announced its first annual Poker Royale benefit. The Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 18, beginning at 6pm. All proceeds will go toward shows in the highly anticipated 2013 season of the critically acclaimed company.

Now in its second hit year, VOCA PEOPLE began performances at The Westside Theater on June 23, 2011 and moved to New World Stages on February 16, 2012. VOCA PEOPLE will conclude over 400 performances during its off Broadway run in New York.

The Emory Cinematheque Series presents "Movie Magic: Special and Visual Effects from 1896 to Now" for its free, 35 mm film screenings this fall. Beginning Aug. 29 with Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo,' the screenings are held each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Emory's White Hall 208. A special Oct. 3 screening will be held at the Plaza Theatre.

The production will run from August 17th through September 8that the theatre's iconic namesake venue in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tenn.
