Come aboard for an epic American musical! A sweeping tale spanning nearly fifty years from 1880 to 1927, ShowBoat depicts a journey into the lives, loves and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the Cotton Blossom, a Mississippi River show boat. Its themes include racial prejudice and tragic, enduring love. The arrival of Show Boat on Broadway was a watershed moment in the history of American musicals, hailed as "a radical departure in musical storytelling, marrying spectacle with seriousness." Jerome Kern's masterpiece is a true treasure trove of unforgettable musical numbers including "Ol' Man River," "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man" and "You Are Love." Don't miss this timeless triumph of the Broadway stage.

On Golden Pond
March 1 - 24
Friday & Saturdays: 8:00 pm • Sundays: 2:00 pm
Special Engagement on Sunday, March 17: 7:00 pm

You may remember the classic movie with Henry Fonda and Kathryn Hepburn – well, now’s your chance to see it live on our stage. This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. He is a retired professor, nearing eighty, with heart palpitations and a failing memory—but still as tart-tongued, observant and eager for life as always. Ethel, ten years younger, delights in all the small things that have enriched and continue to enrich their long life together, and her character provides the perfect foil for Norman. The couple is visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her dentist fiancé, who then go off to Europe, leaving a teenage son behind for the summer. What follows is a touching and funny observance of life, family and the “golden years” that follow.

This play is suitable for all audiences.

The Sound Of Music
April 26 – May 19
Friday & Saturdays: 8:00 pm • Sundays: 2:00 pm
Special Engagement on Sunday, May 12: 7:00 pm

It seems only fitting that the final Rodgers & Hammerstein collaboration was destined to become the world's most beloved musical. When postulant Maria Rainer proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval officer, Captain von Trapp. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, clash with the Captain, his fiancée and eventually the Nazis as they seize power of her Austrian homeland. The well-known, Oscar-winning motion picture version remains the most popular movie musical of all time. Featuring such classic songs as “Climb Every Mountain,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the enchanting title song “The Sound of Music,” this is a timeless show worth reintroducing to your family again and again.

This musical is suitable for all audiences.

Hairspray
July 12 – August 4

Something huge is coming to our stage for our seventh Season, and it’s a bona fide, big, fat Broadway hit. Transport yourself back to early 1960’s Baltimore as we introduce pleasantly plump Tracy Turnblad – a girl with big hair, an even bigger heart and a huge dream to be a dancer on The Corny Collins show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show. Throw in an evil mother and daughter team, a hip-swiveling teen heartthrob, the dawn of civil rights and one large and ferociously funny “mother,” and you have the makings of a hilariously charming modern hit. Featuring songs such as “Good Morning, Baltimore,” “Nicest Kids In Town,” “Timeless To Me,” the unreal finale “You Can’t Stop The Beat” and some of the most energetic dancing you will ever see on our stage, this is a sure fire hit for the entire family!

This musical is suitable for all audiences.

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
September 13 – October 6

Following the coattails of the hit 50th anniversary Broadway revival, we are proud to present our adaptation of this funny, toe-tapping hit musical, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. A musical parody of 1960's corporate America, the show traces the journey of ambitious window washer J. Pierrepont Finch, a man with a mind for advancement, who rockets to the top of Worldwide Wickets through a combination oF Brown-nosing, dumb luck and advice from the “Book Voice” of the guidebook named in the title. Featuring such memorable songs as "I Believe in You," "Brotherhood of Man," "Coffee Break," "Paris Original" and "The Company Way,” you won’t want to miss this award-winning production!

This musical is suitable for all audiences.

42nd Street
November 1 – November 24

We are ending our spectacular seventh Season with the mother of all song and dance extravaganzas – the big and bold 42nd Street! This lively musical truly celebrates the stuff that dreams are made of. The storyline focuses on the efforts of famed dictatorial Great White Way director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza at the height of the Great Depression. It’s the famous story of the chorus girl who ends up stepping in for the ailing star and being made an overnight success. Featuring classic Broadway tunes including “Shuffle off to Buffalo,” “You’re Getting To Be A Habit with Me,” the title song “42nd Street” and “Lullabye of Broadway,” you will definitely not want to miss this energetic classic tale performed for the first time at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman.

This musical is suitable for all audiences.
