The Arts and Education Council has announced the associates and principals of Edward Jones have raised $673,382 through its 2012 Workplace Giving Campaign, PARTICIPATE - Keep Art Happening, to support arts and arts education organizations throughout the 16-county, bi-state St. Louis area. The campaign at Edward Jones is the largest and most successful Workplace Giving Campaign in A&E's history with 2,857 of the firm's associates and partners, representing 73% of its workforce, contributing to this year's effort.

On Oct 18, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production How I Became a Pirate, book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, directed by David and Julie Payne. The stage production is based on the book, How I Became a Pirate written by Melinda Long and illustrations by David Shannon. The show will run Oct 18 - Dec 28, 2012. Performances are 10 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. How I Became a Pirate is recommended for ages four and up. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating. New York's Rock and Roots radio station WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) is releasing FUV Live 15, the latest collection of exclusive, live performances from its own Studio A, in time for its fall membership drive, which begins on September 27. The 20-track CD includes performances from a broad range artists - veterans like Bonnie Raitt and Ryan Adams, indie favorites such as Blitzen Trapper, Feist, and The Shins, and hot newcomers like Gary Clark Jr., Dawes, and Alabama Shakes.
