On October 18, 20 and 21, superstar Chinese pianist Lang Lang will make a rare, multi-concert appearance performing three different Beethoven piano concertos, a different one each night. Lang Lang will perform Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos. 2, 3 and 5 with the Houston Symphony led by exciting young Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado. Featuring the joyful second concerto to the dramatic third and the epic Emperor, the weekend's concerts will allow audiences to explore in depth Beethoven's piano repertoire. Additionally, Lindberg's edgy 2009 composition EXPO and Schumann's romantic and beautiful Symphony No. 4 will provide colorful and lively bookends to each performance.

The Vilcek Foundation will present Pivotal Works: The Vilcek Foundation Project, a four-night series of dance performances at Joyce SoHo from November 15-18, featuring the talents of the 2012 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Dance winner and finalists. The purpose of the Prize is to recognize contributions by foreign-born dance professionals in the United States. Leading off this program on November 15 & 16 will be the prize finalists Fanny Ara (France), Thang Dao (Vietnam), Alice Gosti (Italy) and Pontus Lidberg (Sweden). Showcasing a variety of dance styles, these choreographers will demonstrate both the cultural and artistic diversity of the contemporary dance field across genres such as modern, flamenco and experimental. Following the finalists program will be a two-night engagement, on November 17 & 18, by the Creative Promise Prize winner, Ivory Coast-born choreographer Michel Kouakou.

Children's Theatre of Charlotte has begun a nationwide search for its new artistic director. It also announced Director of Education Michelle Long will lead its production team in the 2012-13 season as interim artistic director. She will also direct "The Secret Garden" in January. Long takes over for Alan Poindexter, who resigned on Aug. 21.

Recently, The Elisabeth Morrow School Orchestra was selected to perform the national anthem live in NYC at Pier 84 near The Intrepid for the Run10, feed 10 10 k Race down the West Side Highway. The Elisabeth Morrow Orchestra, which is the premier orchestra of the New Jersey independent school, was selected bycompetitive audition to win the spot to play the national anthem at this hugely attended race. Ashley Greene, star of the Twilight film-series, spoke at the event, which raised over $200,000 to feed New Yorkers in need.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announces BSO Passport, a new discounted ticket program for young professionals. From October 15-November 15, patrons age 21-40 can pay $75 to purchase a BSO Passport, good for admission to unlimited* concerts for the entire 2012-13 season at both the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, Md. and The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Md. BSO Passports can be purchased exclusively at BSOmusic.org/Passport. Passport users must present their Passport card and a photo ID to enter all selected concerts throughout the entire season.
