Comix At Foxwoods Announces New Year EventsOctober 25, 2012Multi award-winning comedian, Paul Mecurio, and monthly favorite act, Dueling Pianos, will welcome in 2013 at Comix At Foxwoods with an evening of dancing, drinking and fun, lasting until 3 a.m. The New Year's Eve festivities will begin at 9 p.m., when Mecurio, will showcase his hilarious routine on the Comix stage, followed by Dueling Pianos, who will hit the stage at 10:30 p.m. New Year's Eve party favors, a champagne toast and a post-midnight dessert buffet will follow the two exceptional comedy performances. 2013 Comix Countdown tickets can be purchased in advance for $50 (general admission) or $125 (VIP admission). BSO Launches New Orchestra Fellows ProgramOctober 25, 2012In keeping with the broader vision of inclusivity and relevance within the community that has characterized the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) under Music Director Marin Alsop, the BSO announces a new pilot Orchestra Fellows Program. The BSO's Orchestra Fellows program is conducted in partnership with Sphinx, the non-profit organization that seeks to overcome the cultural stereotype of classical music and promote diversity in the arts. The Orchestra Fellowship is intended as a year-round mentorship program for talented young musicians of color. Tami Lee Hughes, a violinist and Baton Rouge, La. native, has been appointed the Orchestra Fellow for the program's inaugural 2012-13 season.

Community Theatre of Little Rock Presents Walton Jones' A 1940S CHRISTMAS CAROL, 11/16-12/2October 25, 2012The Community Theatre of Little Rock will present its Christmas Musical 'A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol". Dialogue with Three Chords to Present LOVECRAFT IN BROOKLYN, 10/25October 25, 2012Dialogue with Three Chords presents "Lovecraft in Brooklyn" a staged reading of a new work from playwright Stephen Gracia that explores H.P. Lovecraft's tumultuous time living in Brooklyn while newly married. The reading also includes the curtain raiser "When I Dream, I See Strange Men: The Ascension of Elias" which deals with an imagined alien abduction. Both pieces are directed by Michael LoPorto. The show also features live music from Tommy Lombardozzi on October 25 downstairs at Mr. Dennehy's pub on 63 Carmine Street in Manhattan. Admission is free with a $3 suggested donation.

The teenage country music band will perform a concert November 7 at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill in Cincinnati, Ohio, to celebrate the release of their new album "Saturday Night" (Playback Records). Austin Pendleton to Step in for Louis Zorich in IVANOVOctober 25, 2012Austin Pendleton will step into the role of Lebedev beginning Friday, October 26 in his production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV at Classic Stage Company (135 East 13th Street) replacing veteran actor Louis Zorich, who has withdrawn due to a foot injury. Pendleton performed the role of Lebedev in a 1990 production at Yale Repertory. IVANOV, which stars Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and is directed by Pendleton, is currently in previews, prior to an official opening Sunday, November 4. The cast also features Glenn Fitzgerald, Annette Hunt, Stephanie Janssen, Roberta Maxwell, George Morfogen, James Patrick Nelson, Anthony Newfield, Jonathan Marc Sherman, and Anne Troupe. IVANOV will play a limited engagement through Sunday, December 9.
