SITI Company Celebrates 20 YearsOctober 25, 2012Since its founding in 1992, SITI Company has redefined contemporary theater in the United States through an innovative approach to collaboration, cultural exchange, and actor training. With the idea of the ensemble as its bedrock, SITI has served as a creative home for a core group of artists: ten actors, four designers, the director Anne Bogart, and a stunning list of international collaborators. Working together, SITI has not only reimagined what is possible both on and off the stage, but, more broadly, what it means to be a global artist in the new millennium. To celebrate its 20th year of groundbreaking theater, SITI will present its most ambitious and diverse season of activities to date.
Handel and Haydn Society Presents 159th Annual Handel Messiah, 11/30-12/2October 25, 2012Artistic Director Harry Christophers returns to Symphony Hall to lead the Handel and Haydn Society's Period Instrument Orchestra and Chorus in Handel's Messiah in the 159th continuous year of performance since H&H began programming the work annually in 1854. This season features a stellar collection of guest artists, each of whom has appeared with H&H in the past. H&H eagerly anticipates the return of exceptional soloists soprano Karina Gauvin, countertenor Daniel Taylor, tenor James Gilchrist, and baritone Sumner Thompson.
