Creator Rupert Holmes and star Will Chase of Roundabout Theatre Company's The Mystery of Edwin Drood will be interviewed on "Theater Talk" beginning tonight, December 28 at 1am (early Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS (channel 13). Additional air times are December 29 at 8:30PM, December 30 at 12:30PM, and December 31 at 7:30AM, 1:30PM and 7:30PM. Tickets for Broadway's ORPHANS, starring Alec Baldwin and Shia LaBeouf, will go on sale to the general public on December 30. Lyle Kessler's play will be directed by Daniel Sullivan. This production will begin performances on March 19 and open on April 7 2013 at the Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street); this will be the first Broadway staging of the play. Frederick Zollo and Robert Cole are the producers.

NYC writer/performer and "recovering mathematician" Gioia De Cari offers a woman's perspective on this question, as she shares her experiences in higher mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the autobiographical solo show, TRUTH VALUES: One Girl's Romp Through M.I.T.'S Male Math Maze, directed by Miriam Eusebio. The show runs January 9-12 at the Lyceum Theatre.

Last year, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival began a partnership with the Carolina Theatre in Durham and partnered with the theatre to present two shows during last year's festival. Both shows were wildly successful and this year should prove to be no exception. Two of the festival's headliners are slated to take center stage at the Carolina Theatre on February 8 and February 10.

Big Noise Theatre Company will present Garson Kanin's Born Yesterday as their 2nd production of the company's 2012-13 season. Performances will be held at the Prairie Lake Theatre from January 13-February 5th, 2012. Catherine Davis returns to direct for the company, with Peter Rasey serving as producer.

Center Theatre Group has announced the cast of the upcoming production of "Tribes" at the Mark Taper Forum which will feature cast members from the acclaimed off-Broadway production at Barrow Street Theatre. The West Coast Premiere of Nina Raine's "Tribes" will be presented February 27 through April 14, 2013. The opening is set for March 10.

A recent newsletter for The Public Theater has added another hint for the first show of the 2013 Shakespeare in the Park season, which will be 'a delicious comedy that will feature a beloved Public Theater Park alum in one of the lead roles.' The second hint teases that 'the first show next summer has been adapted into a musical more than once.'

In Rehearsal for a Sicilian Tragedy, actor John Turturro (O Brother Where Art Thou?, Barton Fink, Do the Right Thing) takes audiences on a haunting, intimate journey to his maternal homeland of Sicily. There, while exploring the island's vanishing traditions, he is taken under the wing of one of the puppet theater's few remaining practitioners, Mimmo Cuticchio, who instructs him in the distinctively Sicilian art of puppetry.

Upright Citizen Brigade has announced January extension dates for The 2017 Tony Awardz, a musical parody by Stephanie Streisand and Rocco Privetera. Performances will be held Monday, January 2nd and 9th, 2013 at 8:00pm (with future dates to be announced). Evan Greenspoon (Jest) directs a cast of seven including Stephanie Streisand (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), Michael Hartney(30 Rock, Small Time), Richard "Big Rich" Armstead, Adam Bozarth, Caroline Cotter, Matthew Frazier, and Douglas Widick. The 2017 Tony Awardz will run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 307 West 26th Street, in New York City.
