ASC Receives ITA Award of Excellence in Theatre for Young Audiences

On September 22, 2012, Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC) was honored as the recipient of the Illinois Theatre Association's 2012 Award of Excellence in Theatre for Young Audiences. The awards presentation took place as part of the Illinois Theatre Association's 39th Annual Convention, Ignite Your Creative Spirit, and was held at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Aimee-Lynn Newlan, Executive Director of the Illinois Theatre Association (ITA), states: "Each year the Illinois Theatre Association recognizes both individuals and organizations for their significant contributions of promoting quality theatre throughout the state of Illinois. Adventure Stage Chicago was nominated by the Illinois theatre community, approved by ITA's divisional representatives, and accepted by ITA's Board of Directors. We are thrilled to provide this much-deserved recognition."

Tom Arvetis, Producing Artistic Director of Adventure Stage Chicago, says: "We are incredibly honored to be recognized by the Illinois Theatre Association. ITA is an organization whose members are among the hardest working and most dedicated theatre professionals and educators in the field. To be singled out by ITA with this distinction is a tremendous compliment, and we are grateful for the recognition."

The Illinois Theatre Association will again bestow Adventure Stage Chicago with the 2012 Award of Excellence on Saturday, Nov. 10th at 4:00pm before the opening performance of ASC's fall show Six Stories Tall: a play about mermaids, monsters and spray paint! by Marco Ramirez.
