Clannad Comes to the Warner Theatre, 9/30
By: Kelsey Denette
On Sunday, September 30 at 7pm, the Warner Theatre welcomes Clannad on the main stage.
Formed in 1970 in Gweedore County Donegal as a family band, Clannad has given a unique voice to modern Irish music and bridged the gap between traditional Celtic music and pop. They have combined a deep love of traditional strains with a bold approach to writing and recording. Their results are an entrancing, enchanting form of pop that manages to fuse the disparate elements together rather seamlessly and their legacy is a hugely impressive collection of albums, touching on folk, rock, jazz and world music. Such fusions have earned the band an international cult of fans.Tickets to see Clannad are $40, $47 and can be purchased by calling the Warner box office at 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org.Videos
