Craig Laurie, who originated the role of Bob Crewe in the Chicago company of Jersey Boys, will head the cast of The Phoenix Theatre's upcoming production of the Tony Award winning Yeston/Kopit musical, Nine.

Midwestern Theater Troupe will be holding auditions for 'Blood Relations' by Michael Wright, directed by John Cruncleton, on Sunday, April 3rd, at 2pm, at the Nightingale Theater, 1416 E 4th St.

The Music Theatre Company, Highland Park's equity theatre, begins its third season with Stephen Sondheim & George Furth's Merrily We Roll Along, directed and choreographed by Founding Artistic Director Jessica Redish. The production will run March 31-May 1, 2011 at The Music Theatre Company at the Karger Center, 1850 Green Bay Road in Highland Park.

Set for release June 21st on ModernArt, this is an album as restless as The Chain Gang of 1974's White Guts, an album which funneled three years of instrument-swapping, sample-splicing experience into a lean focused listen, but it melds the standout moments from that release into something wholly new and realized. In creating this new album, The Chain Gang of 1974's genre-jumping singer/multi-instrumentalist Kamtin Mohager moved from Denver to Los Angeles, severed the ties of the two-year relationship that fueled Wayward Fire, and raised the curtain on what's next, proving that this particular film has just begun.

Nearly one year into playing together, Robert Plant & The Band of Joy has found that rare sweet spot where composition and improvisation meld to create a firey and soulful brand of jubilant rock'n'roll. THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Florida Studio Theatre is presenting two additional plays this season: Family Secrets, a co¬medic one-woman exploration of family foibles, and Two Jews Walk Into a War..., a new play about a real-life Middle Eastern odd couple. Florida Studio Theatre will close its 2010/11 season with Michael Hollinger's intelligent new play, Ghost-Writer. Ghost-Writer is apart of FST's 20th annual SARASOTA FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS. This production also marks the second Hollinger production at FST, after the critically-acclaimed production of Opus during the 2008/09 season. Ghost-Writer opens on the Keating Theatre stage on April 6, 2011 andwill run through May 29.

The All City Audition is an annual General Audition for AASD Members that is attended by local theatre directors, casting directors, talent agents, and production companies from all over San Diego. The actors participating are a collection of some of San Diego's best talent which auditors have the opportunity to see all in one sitting! This program has successfully linked AASD Members with theatres, agencies, film/television, and live event work for over 20 years.

Actors' Shakespeare Project, in collaboration with The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University, is producing a reading series in early April prior to staging Antony and Cleopatra in the space later in the month. The reading series includes Thomas Middleton's Women Beware Women, directed by ASP company member Sarah Newhouse, and The Last Will by Robert Brustein - a 2011 National Medal of Arts recipient - directed by Daniela Varon.

Abingdon Theatre Company concludes its 2010-2011 Season with the New York premiere of SUMMER IN SANCTUARY, a new play by Al Letson, noted poet, playwright and host of NPR's 'State of the Re:Union' about one man's attempt to connect with disadvantaged youths using words and poetry, with previews set to begin March 25, prior to its official press opening on April 3 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan. The rich cultures of ancient Nubia, located in present-day southern Egypt and northern Sudan, are the subject of an exhibition opening today at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW). On view through June 12, 2011, Nubia: Ancient Kingdoms of Africa evokes the rise, fall, and re-emergence of Nubian power over the course of some 2,500 years, from the earliest Nubian kingdoms of about 3000 BC through the conquest of Egypt beginning in about 750 BC. With more than 120 objects, ranging from statues portraying kings to military weapons, jewelry, pottery, and more, the exhibition illuminates the culture of ancient Nubia-particularly its ongoing, complex relationship with Egypt-and reveals its remarkable and distinctive aesthetic tradition.
