In an interview with the LA Times this week, playwright Jonathan Tolins and actor Michael Urie discussed their award-winning off-Broadway one-man show, Buyer & Cellar, and the possibility that the legendary Barbra Streisand may come to see it within the upcoming weeks. The show, which is playing at the Mark Taper Forum through August 17th, is about an unemployed Los Angeles actor who gets a job manning a pretend mall in Barbra's basement. Writing duo Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk have posted videos of their latest show, One (More) Night in London, at St. James Studio on June 16th with performances by American actor Michael Arden and West End stars Lucie Jones and Stuart Matthew Price. Albany's Park Playhouse posted a teaser video of their production of Hands on a Hardbody running from July 1 - July 26. Not only is Park Playhouse's production the Northeast Regional Premiere of the musical, but it is also the first regional production since the controversial TUTS version. Due to its failure to keep up with rent payments for the past two years, Evanston's Next Theatre will be forced to relinquish its space in the Noyes Cultural Arts Center. Since the theatre is indebted for over $76,000, city officials will be holding a meeting today to 'authorize enforcement' of the collection of the deficit. The council will also discuss plans to decline renewal of the theatre lease when expires in May 2015.

This year the Showboat Circus is once again coming to Tribeca with old-time family entertainment aboard a century-old covered wooden barge. DeadPan Alley, starring Will Shaw, is a one-hour, one-man performance of physical comedy, verbal wit and expert skill. Audiences of all ages will be thrilled with astounding and hilarious displays of juggling and balance, fancy cowboy roping, flying boomerangs, rare and amazing spinning top manipulations, hat tricks, sight gags, audience participation and clowning steeped in the traditions of the great comedians from the silent film era to the present. DeadPan Alley also features serious (and not-so serious) musical presentations with the piano and harmonica. Will Shaw has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Sesame Street and was an instructor for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus Clown College.

On Saturday June 14th, pop, jazz, and musical theatre stars from all over the world joined forces at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto to perform in 'If I Loved You: Gentlemen Prefer Broadway,' a concert showcasing and redefining love songs from classic Broadway musicals. For the finale, the cast, which included David Byrne, Boy George, Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), Josh Groban, Brent Carver, Steven Page, Brennan Hall and concert organizer Rufus Wainwright, sang their own rendition of 'Summer Nights' from Grease.
