On Monday June 2, Broadway vet and Epic recording artist Morgan James (Motown, Godspell) will bring her powerhouse vocals to (le) poisson rouge to celebrate the release of HUNTER, her debut studio album of original soul tunes on Epic Records. Classic and modern: horns, full band, lush and funky, she will sing from the new album, including her first single "I Want You", and sign CDs after the show.

The band will include Doug Wamble, Roy Dunlap, Jeff Hanley, Brian Delaney, Ron McBee, Ron Blake, Alphonso Horn, and Mike Fahie, as well as Asmeret Ghebremichael, Chevy Chevis, and Tabitha Fair on back-up vocals.

A true labor of love, James assumed co-writing duties on eight of the album's eleven tracks, and even performed all of her own background vocals and harmonies. Says James, "I want people to walk away from this album feeling fulfilled. That's the way it used to be. Often, I think I'm from another time. I just want to bring back the power of the singular legacy voice."

The official release date for HUNTER is Tuesday June 3, and it can be pre-ordered on iTunes here: http://smarturl.it/morganjames-hunter.
