As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will make its television debut this Friday, September 10, on ABC's 'Good Morning America.' The appearance will feature interviews with the show's composers and lyricists, Bono and The Edge, live via satellite from their European tour, and Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor, as well as the premiere of a song from the highly anticipated show, performed by its star, Reeve Carney (who portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and his band Carney, live from The Hudson Theatre in Times Square.

Following a London West End run in December 2007, a sold-out limited engagement at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in March 2008, and a subsequent eight-week run on Broadway, director Rupert Goold's gripping stage production of Macbeth was filmed for television at the end of 2009.

Today, The Moscow Times profiles what they deem a very exciting season for Russian Theatre. They write: 'A quick glance at shows opening in the coming months reveals a strong presence of contemporary writers. Pavel Pryazhko, Yury Klavdiyev, Ivan Vyrypayev and the Presnyakov brothers are all set with new productions of plays. There will also be plenty to choose from for those interested in the work of Russia's best directors. Valery Fokin, Yury Butusov, Genrietta Yanovskaya, Sergei Zhenovach and Robert Sturua are all on the verge of opening new productions.'

Whoopi Goldberg will rejoin the cast of the hit musical comedy SISTER ACT in October to complete her run as Mother Superior. She will perform the role on the evening of Friday 22 October, at two shows on Saturday 23 October and at two shows on Monday 25 October. Whoopi's previous run, her West End debut, was a huge critical success and saw fans camping overnight at the box office and daily queues around the block at the London Palladium for tickets. During Whoopi's run Sister Act also broke the record for the highest weekly gross of any musical ever at the Palladium. She was unable to complete that run, which was to end on August 31, when she had to return to the USA due to a family emergency.

With her sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Heart, out yesterday, September 7, singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles recently spoke with the AP about the process of making an album after finding fame and how she's love to head to Broadway sometime in the near future. Due to overwhelming demand, Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin) is pleased to announce a second extension for the first New York revival of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, directed by Michael Greif. The production, originally slated to run through December 19, 2010 and extended once through January 30, 2011, will now play an additional three weeks through Sunday, February 20, 2011.

Last night, September 7, Ellen DeGeneres made a surprise cameo in PROMISES, PROMISES as the 'Nurse' in Act 1, performing alongside Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth. The cameo was orchestrated as a promo for the upcoming season of her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres show. In a move that surprised everyone, her walk-on was kept under wraps until her debut last night, with media not being alerted until midnight following the performance.

Deadline.com exclusively reports today that God of Carnage alumna Janet McTeer has signed up for The Woman in Black film, starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Ciaran Hinds. Based on Susan Hill's novel of the same name, The Woman In Black film adaptation was overseen by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass).

The New York Times has announced that Ethan Hawke, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Natasha Lyonne will star in the New Group's Blood From A Stone, the first production of the theater company's 2010-2011 season. Performances begin on December 13, 2010 at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row. The production will run through February 19, 2011.

The Actors Fund will host a party for 'The Friends of The Lillian Booth Actors Home' on Monday, September 13 at 6 pm at Gloria Crest, in Englewood, NJ, the former estate of film legend Gloria Swanson and now the home of the evening's hosts Jan and Edward Turen. Spider-Man Reeve Carney will introduce the first song from the upcoming Broadway show on Good Morning America, September 10. Carney will perform the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel. The performance will be broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour. To be a part of the live audience, fans are encouraged to arrive at the Hudson Theatre by 6:30am on September 10. The song title will not be released until its debut on Friday.
