Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

Yesterday, September 13, David Lindsay-Abaire premiered the film adaptation of his Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Rabbit Hole during the 35th Toronto International Film Festival at the Elgin Theatre. The film stars Nicole Kidman, Diane Wiest, Aaron Eckhart, Tammy Blanchard, and Sandra Oh. The film was adapted by Lindsay-Abaire and directed by John Cameron Mitchell.

Stage & Screen Vet Harold Gould Dies at 86

Veteran of stage and screen Harold Gould passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, September 11. According the the New York Times, Gould passed away at his home in Woodland Hills California after a losing battle with prostate cancer.

As Perez Hilton first revealed, Liza Minnelli, Jon Stewart and Martha Stewart will be among the guests on Oprah's last season this year. Sources tell BroadwayWorld.com that it is indeed true and they are now working on a date for Minnelli's appearance. As of 2010, The Oprah Winfrey Show is the longest-running daytime television talk show in the United States, having run nationally since September 8, 1986, for over 24 seasons and nearly 5,000 episodes. On November 19, 2009, Oprah Winfrey's production company announced that the show will be ending on September 9, 2011.

Cirque du Soleil announced today that it will debut a major new acrobatic spectacle next summer at the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York. Proudly presented by iShares®, the new show, whose name will be announced in the coming weeks, will be directed by acclaimed film and theatre director François Girard (The Red Violin, Silk). Created especially for the landmark theater, previews will begin for the new production in June 2011, with the premiere date to be confirmed shortly.

Nixon, Weaver et al. Sign onto 'Rampart' Film

Variety reports today that Cynthia Nixon, Sigourney Weaver, Steve Buscemi, and Robin Wright will join Woody Harrelson, Ice Cube and Ben Foster on the cop-thriller, Rampart, financed by Amalgam Features. Filming is scheduled to begin on October 25 in Los Angeles.

The Associated Press reports that John Malkovich will star as an 'aged' 'Casanova' in the Austrian production of The Giacomo Variations. The production will make its premiere at the Ronacher Theater in Vienna on January 5, 2011. The production, which is described as a cross between a play and an opera, will feature music by Mozart and Austrian baritone Florian Boesch as Malkovich's singing counterpart

'Sondheim: The Birthday Concert' PBS Special Gets Nov. 16 Release

As BroadwayWorld has reported, The New York Philharmonic's SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert, which took place on March 15-16, 2010 at Avery Fisher Hall, will be broadcast on THIRTEEN'S Great Performances on PBS on Wednesday, November 24 (check local listings). WNET, Channel 13 in New York City, will air the concert at 9:30 p.m. that evening. Today, it has been revealed that the Image Entertainment will release the program DVD and Blu-Ray on November 16, 2010. The concert includes songs and orchestral pieces from Sondheim musical theater favorites such as Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Into the Woods, and Sunday in the Park with George. Today, it has been announced that in addition to the PBS telecast, the concert will be released on DVD in November by Image Entertainment.

Mulligan on 'My Fair Lady:' "Not happening this year"

Worst Previews is reporting that the upcoming remake of the 1964 classic My Fair Lady is still in the works, but 'hanging.' Despite recent confirmation from Sony execs that the project was still in play, reportedly with Carey Mulligan in the lead, Mulligan revealed at the Toronto Film Festival that 'I've definitely spoken about it, and I would love to do it if it happens, but it's just not happening right now...I read the script and the script is incredible. Emma Thompson wrote it. It's telling the story again, in another way and not trying to sort of copy anything and not trying to take away anything from that version of it. It's just telling it in a new era to a new generation of people.'
