On September 10, Spider-Man Reeve Carney introduced the first song from the upcoming Broadway show, 'Boy Falls From the Sky' on Good Morning America. Carney performed the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, with the performance broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson), Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel will begin performances on Tuesday, October 19 for Daniel Sullivan's critically acclaimed production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). Reps for LOVE NEVER DIES have confirmed to the New York Times this morning that indeed the production will not open on Broadway as planned in the Spring of 2011. Deadline.com reports that Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are in talks to star in the film adaptation of Tracy Lett's Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning play, August: Osage County. According to the report, both are in final negotiations for the project and production timelines are being set. The team is looking for a start by early summer 2011. John Wells will direct the film, which is being adapted by Letts for the screen.

Signature Theatre Company's production of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, began performances Tuesday, September 14. The first New York revival of Kushner's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play is directed by Michael Greif. The production, originally slated to run through December 19, has been extended a second time through February 20, 2011. The producers of the hit musical ROCK OF AGES announced today that frontman for the 80's sensation Twisted Sister, Dee Snider, will make his Broadway debut in the role of 'Dennis' for an 11-week limited run, October 11- December 24, 2010 at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).
