Samuel French, the world's leading theatrical publishing and licensing company just honored some of the theatre community's most respected artists, activists and rising stars yesterday, when they bestowed the Samuel French Awards in a private reception. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the special night and you can check out photos below!

NOT THAT JEWISH, written and performed by writer, actress and comedian Monica Piper (Writer of Roseanne, Mad About You, Rugrats) and directed by Mark Waldrop (Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly, Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends), just opened and will play through January 2017 at New World Stages (340 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019).

Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking Broadway musical, CATS will made history once again when internet sensation, Grumpy Cat became the first genuine feline to join the cast. Grumpy Cat, the media personality, performer and New York Times best-selling author, made her Broadway debut (for one night only) alongside the cast on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) last night, Friday, September 30, 2016.

Election day is quickly approaching and the company of Hamilton is making sure that your voice is heard. Just yesterday, the show registered voters from all 50 states outside of the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Miss out on the fun? They'll be back again on October 1, between 5 and 7 pm. on the 28th and Oct. 1st. 

There were Grizabellas here, there, and everywhere last night at the Winter Garden Theatre, as current CATS star Leona Lewis, her upcoming replacement Mamie Parris, and original Broadway glamor cat Betty Buckley met up backstage. Honest Accomplice Theatre is dedicated to creating art for social change and last night premiered the  The Trans Literacy Project at a once in a lifetime benefit event on September 19, 2016 at 42 West in New York, NY.   Hosted by Susan Blackwell this evening featured the launch of The Trans Literacy Project as well as a celebrity game night.

FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical, played its final performance on Broadway last night and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the cast and creative team at the emotional end to it all. 

Earlier this week, the company of CHICAGO took their act uptown, to Central Park. To celebrate the musical's 20th Anniversary, fans got to experience the razzle dazzle with a free concert at SummerStage in Central Park. BROADWAY BARKS just held their 18th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, Broadway Barks featured a slew of celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway.

Just yesterday, The Color Purple's Tony Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo was joined by some of her Broadway friends as Sardi's unveiled her caricature, which joins the historic collection on the restaurant's walls, honoring Broadway's finest for over 85 years.
