Cortland Repertory Theatre has announced the nominees for their ninth annual 'Pavilion Awards' which recognize Outstanding Achievement in Local High School Theatre. Joan Arline - former Sexquire cover girl, who toured the country as a headliner during the golden era of the burlesque circuit from 1953-1958, will perform her acclaimed night club and cabaret show 'Ballet To Burlesque' on Sunday, May 22nd at a 2 PM matinee in Palm Desert at The Joslyn Center's Arthur Newman Theatre. The show will feature stories and songs from the burlesque era, complete with a few of her original costumes, vintage posters, and a few other surprises.

Radio Bloomsday, the annual 7 hour radio broadcast of artists interpreting James Joyce's Ulysses, will be heard coast to coast on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 on WBAI, 99.5 FM in New York City and on KPFK, 90.7 in Los Angeles. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces Polly Carl will join the company in a new position as Director of the American Voices New Play Institute (AVNPI) beginning July 1, 2011. As director, Carl will develop and direct all existing staff and activities of the Institute, as well as support the artistic planning, production, development and study of new work by Arena Stage. This position reports to Arena Stage Associate Artistic Director David Dower.

Due to popular demand, Target Margin Theater (David Herskovits, Artistic Director) has added three performances to the final production of its 20th Anniversary Season, Shakespeare's classic tale, The Tempest. The added performances are: Saturday afternoon, May 21 at 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 28 at 4:00 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.

Roundabout Theatre Company's production of the new musical, Death Takes a Holiday will begin performances on Friday, June 10, 2011 and open officially on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Death Takes a Holiday will play a limited engagement through September 4, 2011. This production marks the second time a new musical has been presented in this theatrical space, following the recent production of The Tin Pan Alley Rag.
